Slapping on the paint

Hello again - I've been missing you! I've been away to visit my Mum, although you may not have realised I was away as I left so many scheduled posts. I managed a tiny bit of commenting, but not very much as I can only connect to the internet through a portable hot spot on my phone when I'm there, and the mobile signal is terrible!

Mum's 90 now and getting very frail, but still insists on living alone in her own home and refuses any help we try to organise for her, so it's very hard work when we're there and it's been a real treat to me to be able to spend a few hours crafting today.

Here's the first of several cards I have made this morning, inspired by the photo inspiration at Just Add Ink.

I liked all the paintbrushes with the different coloured paints on them, which lead me to make a DIY themed card.

I'm also sharing this with Watercooler Wednesday - Masculine - this is a new challenge to me so it's my first time playing along.

Jane, you're a star! It's good that your Mum has her independence but it's also hard going for you I'm sure. I LOVE your card :) Feet up for you girl and there's gin in the teapot behind the bike shed :)

Hugs

Welcome, Jane. I hope this is the first of many times you link a card up to our challenge. I have to confess that I had to explore your blog when I saw those onions in your banner. I'm glad that I did. You have some beautiful creations, not to mention interesting recipes. I think I'll try the Chorizo and Chickpea Spanish Rice for my husband this week. But back to your lovely card. The messy paintbrushes and dripping paint can are perfect for a masculine card. Love the layout, too. Thanks so much for joining our Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week.

Am so admiring of your creations, Jane. I do sewing and quilting to relax after visiting my Mum (93), although it is much easier for me now she is in a kind Rest Home which specialises in dementia are.

What a perfect fit your beautiful card is for our Inspiration photo this week, Jane! I love how you've added the details to the paint brushes and kept the rest clean and beautiful. Thanks for sharing with us at Just Add Ink this week :-0

Jane, glad you were able to join us at the Watercooler Wednesday blog, and like Heidi, hope you come back for our weekly challenges. I love your great card and that you were able to combine the two challenges to come up with it. Those little paint brushes are a gem, as is the can. I'm sure this will remind someone special of their "honey do list", or the joy of painting. Great card.

What a great card for a man Jane especially one who is keen on doing DIY projects. I love the bright colours on the brushes - they almost seem to be dancing across the page. Thanks for joining us at Just Add Ink this week.
